Lysine producers cut prices in China to entice buyers

Lysine prices moved lower during the week ending January 29.

Trade slowed as most buyers, who stayed cautious due to high disease rates of bird flu, halted buying after securing ample stocks to last for the upcoming Chinese New Year holidays.

Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine moved lower to the range of RMB8-8.85/kg.

With demand poised to weaken further as feed millers prepare for the celebration of Chinese New Year, lysine market is expected to stay soft.
